FOUNDER

Koninklijke Philips N.V. (Philips, stylized as PHILIPS) is a Dutch technology company headquartered in Amsterdam with primary divisions focused in the areas of electronics, healthcare and lighting.


 It was founded in Eindhoven in 1891, by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik. It is one of the largest electronics companies in the world and employs around 105,000 people across more than 60 countries.

PHILIPS IN INDIA

Philips began operations in India in 1930, with the establishment of Philips Electrical Co. (India) Pvt Ltd in KOLKATA as a sales outlet for imported Philips lamps.

 In 1938, Philips established its first Indian lamp-manufacturing factory in Kolkata.


In 2017, Philip's was ranked in top 10 among India's most trusted brands according to the Brand trust report, a study conducted by Trust Research Advisory.
